As the Chair of the International Symposium on Smart Future Cities: The Role of Spatial Data and Urban Analytics, and on behalf of the organising committee, I would like to thank our international and local speakers and all delegates for attending and participating in the Symposium this year.
Our event was a great success with more than 150 delegates from over 10 countries attending, and over 50 presentations delivered across the two days covering 8 key themes. An exhibition was also held in the breakout space featuring displays from PSMA Australia, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN), HERE, the Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety (CDMPS), and the Centre for SDIs and Land Administration (CSDILA).
The aim of the symposium was to present and discuss the latest innovations, research and practice related to smart future cities. The Symposium provided an opportunity for Australian and International delegates, expert practitioners, thought leaders, senior executives and researchers to exchange new ideas and experiences regarding best practices in leveraging spatial data and urban analytics including smart cities planning, building constructions, national infrastructures, housing, 3D land and property information, 3D city models, Building Information Model (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT) and associated analytics, to help realise Smart Future Cities.
